The Journey

Do you want to know more about the Journey? Join us for the next Immersion process. Learn about the church, learn about how God has specifically gifted you and connect with others at the Journey. This class is also for those who want to become Staff.. The notebooks (available in the back) contain all the info you need to know about Immersion. The cost for the entire Immersion process is $25 to cover the cost of materials & personality tests that are administered.

What is Immersion?
Immersion is the process that everyone must go through before becoming Staff at The Journey. Being Staff does not necessarily mean a paid position but rather refers to a high level of personal commitment and service the surrounding community.

What am I committing to?
Anyone who wants to serve more and learn more about The Journey can go through Immersion. However, once you commit to being Journey Staff you must sign a Staff Covenant (a sample is attached).

When is Immersion and what does it consist of?
Immersion consists of several events in which you will learn the core values of the church. You will walk through the basics of our faith through The Fundamentals class. You will understand your personality, character, spiritual gifts, strengths and passions through the Imprints ministry. At the end of this process and upon signing the Staff covenant, New Staff are commissioned before the entire church.

Below is the breakdown of dates for the Winter Immersion Class. Please mark your calendars if you plan on going through Immersion…each of these events is vital in the process of becoming Staff!

Dec.1- Dec. 31: Sign up for Immersion Class @ Immersion Table.

Dec. 17-31: Pick up Immersion packets at Information Table (cost is $25.00)

January 6. 2007: Fundamentals Class at The Journey Office (1535 North Mt. Juliet Road, Suite 300, Mt. Juliet TN), 10 am. (Please bring the My Journey worksheet).

January 13, 2007: Outdoor Immersion Experience @ 10 am @ AB Hedgepaths (see attached MAP and information.) Please wear clothes suitable for an outside event.

January 20, 2007: Imprints Day at The Journey Office. This day will consist of learning Strengthsfinders, going through the personality assessment, understanding how to use the personality assessments in teams, and learning the Character Matrix and Spiritual Gifts. This one-day class is mandatory for all Staff candidates. A one hour lunch break will be given where The Journey will pay for lunch. 8:30 am-3:30 pm.

January 28, 2007: New Staff dinner for those who have successfully completed Immersion and who have signed the Staff Covenant 4-6 pm.

February 4, 2007: Commissioning of New Staff. This Sunday all of the successful Staff candidates will be commissioned to go out into the community as new Staff members at The Journey. Don’t miss this special Sunday!
